The jeans should be left to soak for about half an hour to one hour. Note that if you want the jeans to shrink at all you should use very hot water; otherwise use cold water.

• Remove jeans from water and dry them. Once fully dry, try on the jeans and make marks on them indicating the preferred length of the shorts.

• Iron the jeans very carefully, completely removing any creases in the area to be cut.

• With the aid of a ruler, draw a straight line across where you intend to crop the jeans. Then, use a good pair of scissors to cut across.
